Every Caribbean student knows the September ritual: a fresh exercise book, a beautiful colour-coded study timetable, and a solemn vow that this year will be different. By mid-October the timetable is a bookmark. The problem was never sincerity — it's that most study plans are designed for an imaginary student with infinite discipline and empty evenings. 1. Shrink the unit until it's laughably small
Plans die at "study chemistry for two hours." That's a unit of work big enough to dread, so it gets postponed, and postponement becomes the routine. Flip it: make the daily unit 25–40 focused minutes — one topic, one drill, one past-paper section. Small units get started, and starting is the entire battle; nobody who begins a 30-minute session at 7pm regrets it at 7:30. On heavy homework days, the unit shrinks further rather than skipping: ten minutes of practice questions keeps the chain alive.
2. Anchor it to something that already happens
"I'll study in the evenings" fails because "the evenings" is not a time. 4. Space and mix instead of binge and block
